JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Welder

Industry: Machinery

Job Type: Temporary to Hire

 

Pay Rate: $16/Hr – $22/Hr

 

Available Schedule(s): Monday through Friday 6 am to 2:30 pm, possible Saturdays

 

Location: Schoolcraft, MI 49087

Welder Requirements:

  • High School or GED
  • Up to 50 pounds lifting requirement
  • General metal assembly environment, quality checks, reading work instructions
  • Monday through Friday, 1st shift, with possible Saturdays

 

Welder Preferred Skills:

  • 2 years of experience working with MIG or TIG Welding
  • Good mathematical ability and ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to operate precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measures.

Welder Job Description:

Snelling has an immediate opening for a Welder in Schoolcraft, MI. This position will be responsible for creating quality welds according to blue prints. The Welder should be able to work independently and demonstrate a proactive, problem-solving attitude. Job duties include the following:

  • Create quality welds according to blue prints (weld symbols).
  • Inspects welds for accuracy.
  • Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting steel/aluminum parts
  • Change wire, welding, as needed.
  • Change gas tanks, as needed.
  • Will be required to cross-train as back-up in other areas of the plant.
